Excellent food! Everything was incredibly flavorful and beautifully presented, with great portion sizes for tapas and sharing. The service was fantastic as well. We had a wonderful experience and would definitely come back! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Dinner

Came here due to the rave reviews everywhere online. The service was excellent and our waitress very attentive. We ordered the wagyu wontons, which were delicious, crack fries (also delicious), as well as a chateaubriand to share. The chateaubriand was fine. The food and presentation was great, but I felt like it was just okay for the price, mainly the chateaubriand (surprisingly we weren't asked how we'd like the steak, which felt weird for a high end resturant). You get 16 Oz for $109, and have to pay extra for any sort of topping (including a demi-glace!). It was disappointing that one of their most expensive dishes tasted average. They are known for their tasting menus, so maybe that would've been a better experience. Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $100+

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. I had the "YES, CHEF" tasting menu, and from the first amuse-bouche to the final bite, every course was thoughtful, creative, and executed to perfection. Standout dishes included the iconic mini caviar hotdog, the incredibly fresh hand crab roll, pork belly candy (which somehow manages to be crispy, sweet, spicy, and fun all at once), the scallop crudo, the brûlée halloumi, the lamb rib with pistachio and lemon yogurt, and an absolutely phenomenal Chateaubriand that was cooked perfectly. And I can't forget the espresso martini—it was absolutely bomb. I'm pretty picky when it comes to espresso martinis, and this one knocked it out of the park. It's also the only photo I'll be posting. What impressed me most wasn't just the quality of the food—it was how every course surprised me with unique flavors and textures while still feeling approachable. You can tell an incredible amount of passion and creativity goes into every plate. Yes, I took photos of every single dish... but I'm intentionally not posting them. This is one of those experiences that deserves to be discovered firsthand, course by course, without spoilers. A huge thank you to Chef Blake Flann and the entire team for creating one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. If you're in Canmore—or even if you're not—4296 is absolutely worth making the trip for.
