Very good experience. Staff were very friendly and attentive without being in your face. Wife had the Rigatoni with Burrata and I had the Salmon Papardelle. Large portions for us so was glad didn't order a starter. Absolutely delicious food, perfectly cooked pasta (al dente), and the sauces were divine. Including a bottle of wine, came to a very reasonable £65.00. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £30–40 Parking space: Difficult to find parking

Having seen this place packed all the time, I came in with really high expectations. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to the hype at all, in fact, it’s easily one of the worst Italian spots I’ve been to in Liverpool. We ordered the meatballs starter, cheesy garlic bread, and the chicken parmesan. I can’t speak for the rest of the menu, but these dishes were seriously underwhelming. The biggest issue was the tomato base used in both the meatballs and the spaghetti. It genuinely tasted like canned tomato soup (very similar to Heinz cream of tomato), mixed with a tiny bit of actual marinara. It was overly tart, had that unmistakable canned, soup-like smell, a smooth puréed texture, and even the bright orange colour to match, definitely not what you expect from an Italian restaurant. The garlic bread was just as disappointing completely lacking flavour, with chewy, unimpressive cheese. Honestly, if you’re branding yourself as an Italian restaurant but can’t get the basics right, it’s not a great sign. If Amici sees this review, can you tell me what is in the sauce? On top of the poor food, the service didn’t help. We had to ask the waiters just to take our order because no one came over for ages. Then when it came time to pay, it took around 15 minutes just to get the bill printed. To top it off, they’d added a service charge, which we declined given the experience didn’t meet even a basic standard. Overall, really disappointing. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2
