*“Best Sunday roast in Leeds - The Abbey Inn smashed it”* Went to The Abbey Inn on Pollard Lane for Sunday service and honestly, this is what a proper Yorkshire Sunday dinner should be. *The roast:* Huge Yorkshire puddings, actually crisp. Beef was pink in the middle, carved thick, not those sad thin slices. Roast potatoes were crispy outside, fluffy in. Cauliflower cheese done properly, not watery. Proper gravy - loads of it and proper meat gravy, not granules. *Service:* Only 18 tables so it’s intimate, but the staff are on it. Felt like locals who actually care. Food came out hot, together, and they checked we were happy without hovering. *Atmosphere:* Proper pub feel, not a chain. Real ales on tap to go with the roast. Dog friendly too which is a bonus. Booked ahead and glad we did - it was full by 1pm. *Value:* For the quality, portion size and service, it’s brilliant value. Left stuffed and already planning next Sunday. If you’re searching “best Sunday roast Leeds”, “Sunday lunch near me”, or “Sunday dinner Pollard Lane” - stop looking. The Abbey Inn is the answer. Family friendly, amazing Sunday service, and that roast beef dinner was spot on. We’ll be back next week.
