Over the years, I have loved the food at Abshar in Barkingside in Essex. They would serve authentic Punjabi cuisine to a very high standard. It was a surprise that they had moved to the Ceylon Street restaurant in Seven Kings. Initially, they claimed to have all the Punjabi dishes. That part was completely just not true. We waited for 2 hours just for half the starters, which were not what we ordered. Then we discovered they had no Punjabi chef, so they could not promise the main dish we ordered. In front of us, three other customers complained about the slow service for issues like Naans and drinks. For Punjabi cuisine avoid Ceylon Street in Seven Kings. For good customer service avoid Ceylon Street in Seven Kings. For ambience avoid Ceylon Street in Seven Kings. We had hoped for a family celebration but left very hungry. I hope the old Abshar returns some day in their home of Barkingside serving authentic Punjabi cuisine. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £100+ Vegetarian offerings: Clearly labeled vegetarian dishes Vegetarian options: Requested a vegetarian starter and having waited absolute ages was delivered a non-vegetarian starter.
