My husband and I came from Canada to visit London and were excited to try Acacus Libyan Restaurant, hoping to enjoy food and an atmosphere that reminded us of home. To begin with, the atmosphere did not feel authentically Libyan. The staff, including the chef, did not appear to be Libyan, and Egyptian music was playing instead of Libyan music. While this alone may not be a major issue, we were specifically looking for an experience that reminded us of home. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. We waited about 30minutes after ordering without anyone checking on us. When I asked the waiter about the delay, I was told that Rashda takes a long time to prepare. However, after checking again 20 minutes later, I was told that the restaurant did not actually have Rashda and had to order it from somewhere else. The professional approach would have been to inform us from the beginning that the dish was unavailable and ask whether we wanted to wait or choose something else. .When I asked to speak with the owner or manager, the waiter refused to provide any contact information. We came from Canada hoping for a memorable Libyan experience, so this was especially disappointing. Unfortunately, based on our experience, I would not recommend this restaurant. Amazing food and a lovely atmosphere. Everything was fresh, full of flavour, and served quickly. The staff were so welcoming and friendly, making us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. Great portions, excellent service, and a really clean restaurant. I’ll definitely be coming back. Meal type: Lunch Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Great food, especially the delicious dips - try the hummus, it’s out of this world! Also the harissa paste got top marks. We had the chicken tagine, which was good. Asta was a very attentive server. Will definitely come back. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
