I used to order the jollof rice combo + extra chicken regularly. I was a repeat customer until today when they decided to scam me during a pickup order. I got charged $40 for jollof combo + chicken. This is usually $22, I’ve ordered it at least 10 times before. I mentioned to him, if I ordered on skipthedishes it would be half the price. He got awkward and started mubling nonsense. He definitely just took the opportunity to tack on more $ to my bill. Literal scam artist. Anyway I didnt have time to argue so I paid and left. They have lost one of their only customers. Its nice to finally have a Nigerian food restaurant in Ottawa! And yes, the food was goooood! The above was my Ist review when African Kitchen opened, since then I have ordered 6times and it has all been disappointing. Portion sizes was reduced. Food quality also decreased. The last egusi I bought tasted and smelt spoiled. I have given enough chances to see if it was just a day gone wrong but after 5 tries, it is safe to say not again, which is so sad.
