I binned my waffle as soon as I left the place because the staff were handling the food with their hands. The staff running the Friday evening shift need letting go, this level of hygiene is unacceptable! Meal type: Other Price per person: £1–10 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

A rather disappointing experience. The environment feels dated and somewhat questionable, and the level of professionalism shown by the staff left much to be desired. What we initially ordered was unavailable — understandable — so we opted for a simple mocha instead. Nothing particularly complex, yet it still arrived surprisingly watered down. Will I return? Unlikely. Would I recommend it? I’ll leave that to others. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

This place needs looking into. The owner, takes on young staff at below minimum wage. He doesn’t pay them, and blocks their numbers when they try to contact him. He owes 2 of my granddaughters money for working at afters in Beckenham, and his other cafe, Ayla, in Penge. After trying to contact him, he is now blocking their calls and messages. He has a reputation amongst his staff for being a bully, and if the staff complain he fires them and does not pay them what they are owed. Read the most recent reviews on Afters, NOT the ones at the top from five years ago!!! Price per person: £1–10
