Disappointing and utterly devoid of flavour – Fool me once, shame on you... This was my second visit to Al-Bader, and I deeply regret giving them the benefit of the doubt. After a mediocre first experience, I naively assumed it was just a case of bad luck on a busy night. However, this second visit made it glaringly obvious why the restaurant is almost always empty. For an establishment that claims to serve and honour Persian and Middle Eastern cuisine, the food is an absolute insult to those traditions. Persian cuisine is celebrated worldwide for its aromatic depth, rich layers of saffron, and delicate balance of herbs. What we were served here was completely bland, lifeless, and utterly devoid of flavour. It takes a shocking lack of effort to render these beautiful traditional dishes so entirely tasteless. To make matters worse, the pricing is utterly unjustifiable when compared to the abysmal quality of the food. You are paying premium prices for subpar, cut-corner cooking. I wouldn't return to this restaurant even if they offered me a complimentary meal. Save your time and your money—Coventry has far better culinary options to offer than this ghost town of an establishment. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

AMAZING food, and great service and atmosphere. There was a huge range of food, drinks and a few deserts. It was quiet, and the guy who served us was extremely polite and helped us choose some food. This restaurant is a hidden gem right in the centre of Coventry. DEFINITELY worth a visit! Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
