Having forgotten to eat in all the craziness of getting to the airport, I was happy to collapse into a seat at All Bar One at Birmingham Airport for some food and a Guinness. We ordered the Bang-Bang Salad and the Crispy Miso Chicken Burger. The Bang-Bang definitely bangs, so a fair warning: they aren’t skimping on the chilli. What I thought would be a gentle, zingy heat, complementing the mango, slaw, etc, it is a lot, I left half out (see photo) and felt like I still had a fairly spicy experience. You can add some protein, but I just went with the straight salad, having moved half the chilli to the side I enjoyed the balance of flavours. The Miso Chicken Burger was a comfortable play. I liked the flavours and textures in the burger and would definitely get again. The chips were hot and crispy and enjoyable. It’s a franchise you see dotted through terminals, am sure aiming for dependable efficiency. The beer was cold, I failed at “splitting the G”, they took our orders quickly, were pleasant and the food came out fast, so we could relax and enjoy it. While airport food is notoriously over-priced and not great - I felt like this was reasonably priced considering and pretty good quality. If you’re unsure of whether or not to give it a go, but are hungry or need a moment to yourself before you take-off - this will fit the bill. Was nice to be able to see the Departure screen inside the dining room too. Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
