If you’re looking for truly authentic Sri Lankan food in Liverpool, Ambula is an absolute gem. The moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels like stepping into a home back in Sri Lanka — warm, welcoming, and full of familiar aromas. I tried the rice and curry served on a traditional banana leaf, and it was fantastic. The flavours were rich, comforting, and unmistakably authentic. I also had the lamprais, which was just as impressive — beautifully seasoned, perfectly cooked, and packed with that classic Sri Lankan depth. The staff are incredibly friendly and make the whole experience even better. You can tell they care about the food and the culture they’re sharing. The environment inside is cosy and full of character, adding to that home‑country feeling. Absolutely — a must‑visit for anyone who loves Sri Lankan cuisine or wants to try something truly authentic. Amazing food! We had the paneer kothu, seafood kothu and chicken nasi goreng and it was so delicious ! The starters/short eats were amazing as well, very fresh. Mains were beautifully presented in banana leaves and the service was very friendly! Highly recommend for authentic, delicious Sri Lankan food Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
