We had a delicious meal and one of our party thought it was the best meal she’d ever had. The food was fresh, colourful and full of variety. Maya was knowledgeable, friendly and clearly enjoyed working at Amrutha. We really love the ethos too, ‘no one goes hungry’ we certainly didn’t! My wife and I have been coming to Amrutha Lounge for a number of years now, and it remains one of our favourite places to eat. We love the food, the atmosphere and the genuinely warm and welcoming service. Arvin, the owner, is absolutely wonderful whenever he's around. He's incredibly down-to-earth, welcoming and really knows how to look after his guests. It's not often you come across an owner who is so personally engaged with the people dining in his restaurant, and that same warmth clearly comes through in the team he's built. A special mention has to go to Gregorio — he's my guy! Absolutely awesome. He comes across as incredibly genuine and consistently provides first-class service. He really is a credit to Amrutha. Tash is also lovely, always friendly, welcoming and a pleasure to see. The food is creative vegan fusion cooking, served as tapas-style dishes with unlimited refills, so you get to enjoy a great variety of flavours and can have more of the dishes you particularly love. Some of our favourites are the beet gazpacho, Buddha bowl, kale salad, pakoras and salt and pepper tofu. The seasonal curry changes from time to time, and the current yellow Thai curry is another favourite of ours. We also really enjoy the peanut noodle stir-fry, which is available as an additional extra and is well worth ordering. They also hold themed evenings from time to time, and we've been to their taco night, which we absolutely loved. The desserts are well worth saving some room for too! One of our favourites is the fantastic peanut butter ice cream from Chill Gelato, which Amrutha serves and is absolutely delicious. They also sometimes have a wonderfully indulgent chocolate mousse, as well as different flavours of cheesecake, so there's usually something tempting to finish the meal with. Something else I really appreciate about Amrutha is their attitude towards food waste. If you don't finish everything, you're welcome to take the leftovers home, and there have even been occasions when they've had extra food available at the end of the evening and offered it to us to take away rather than see perfectly good food go to waste. I think that's a lovely reflection of the ethos of the place. And then there's the complimentary herbal tea at the end of the meal — a simple but really nice touch. Overall, Amrutha is just a genuinely lovely place to dine. Great vegan food, a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, generous portions and, above all, wonderful people who make you feel welcome. After coming here for years, we still thoroughly enjoy our visits and always look forward to going back. And Gregorio — you're an absolute legend! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Dinner
