Good lamb pizza, prawns and lamb are the best dishes. At this restaurant, guests can drink delicious beer or good wine. Ansum is well known for its great service and friendly staff, that is always ready to help you. Most of the time, the enjoyable atmosphere is to be found here. This place is rated on Google 4.8 by its visitors.

As the inaugural click and collect customer I felt duty-bound to let the people know that this is now an option. The pizza was great, the staff friendly, and if you're quick you can park up in front. We ate ours on a foggy June evening on the SW coastal path, you may prefer yours inside or in better weather, but it didn't take away from the enjoyment. Price per person: £10–20

Amazing pizza place with a huge professional pizza oven right by the beach. Lovely staff, very welcoming and hospitable. I ordered the pepperoni and the anchovies pizza, both tasted perfect, fresh anchovies too! Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Acting on a recommendation from a family member and local in the area, my meal at Ansum pizza has been delightful experience of excellent food, lovely service and a truly pleasant evening. Paired with one of their rosés the meal was full of delicious, mouthwatering grilled prawns. Simply done they are wonderful for both the plain eater and someone who wants a variety of dips and flavours. As you can see from the pictures above the prawns are of a decent size giving a feeling of value for money. You have to deshell them but once that's done the freshness of the Cornish sea comes forth in your mouth. A simple yet excellent starter for a seaside restaurant (about 4-5 large prawns for £9.50 (bargain in this country)). Afterwards came the pizzas, freshly cooked in their wood fired pizza oven, you can watch them cook your pizza, allowing a little theatre for young children and again a feeling of fresh, quality ingredients. The pizza base was a little doughy allowing a lovely chew to mix with the plentiful cheese and tomatoes. It is clear this is place that doesnt do alot but what it does do is fantastic and I would argue, in my experience, the best way to go. Whilst eating the pizzas don't forget to try the array of dips on offer that add just the right kick of flavour to elevate a good pizza into a fantastic one. My dinner companion is a big fan of the scotch bonnet honey dip and as she would not stop making noises of satisfaction for the entire meal. For families their is even a kids play area with toys, something I haven't seen in a restaurant before but very welcome. So if you have well behaved little ones they will have an extra fun experience playing whilst dinner is coming. The service was lovely, everyone was polite, kind and smiling with the waitresses helpful and friendly. As a final benefit it is pet friendly so feel free to bring your pooches along too. For the best experience I'd recommend getting to Porth beach around 4:30pm, pre ordering your pizza (as you cannot book or reserve a table) for a certain time, going across and having a wonderful day on the beach and coming in as the sun sets to a wonderful, well cooked meal that will leave you saying, in the words of my dinner companion, “Wow I wolfed that down, it's barely touched the sides”, which I think is the best statement to sum up this place and experience.
