Nestled alongside the River Avon in the tranquil Millheugh area, The Applebank Inn is a charming slice of Scottish history dating back to the early 1700s. Stepping inside, you're greeted by a cosy interior with exposed stone and wooden beams, where friendly and attentive staff make you feel right at home. The menu offers excellent, freshly cooked pub grub with generous portions from homemade steak pie to haggis fritters and there's a great selection of drinks including highly recommended cocktails. Dog-friendly and with a lovely outdoor seating area overlooking the river, it’s the perfect spot for a relaxed meal. Oh, and if you're feeling brave, keep an eye out for the "Black Lady" it's certified as one of the most haunted pubs in Britain! Price per person: £20–30
