24 August Update: I sent an email to the given email address provided in their reply on 3 August. Here we are 24 August and still no reply. My review stands; a little customer service, or at the very least a simple reply, goes a long way. Would not recommend simply based on the lack of empathy for their guests and the fact that I'm confident my sunglasses were stolen there. _______________________________________________________________. I recently dined at Ave Mario and must admit the food was good, service was ok (at the time), however, I will not be back and based on my experience, would not recommend it or any of the Big Mamma Group restaurants. I had bought a new pair of £168 Ray Ban sunglasses literally an hour prior to dinner and took them off and sat them on the table away from where anyone passing by could have reached them. I even have a picture of me from earlier at dinner where the glasses were visible on the table. Then as dinner was wrapping up, I realized my glasses were no longer on the table. I naturally panicked and was looking all around, checked under the table, everywhere in the vicinity, they were gone. Here’s the kicker, either myself or my friend were present at the table the entire time, so all we can figure, and I hate to make this accusation, is that one of the servers grabbed them while moving plates around - we had several appetizers, and an entree, so there was a lot of movement occurring and had 3 different people bringing and retrieving plates. We alerted a server and they said nothing had been turned in. The next part to the saga is the most concerning part with Ave Mario and the Big Mamma Group - I emailed them the next day touching base and showing them the picture so they would have proof they were there, I have heard nothing back and that has now been over 4 days ago. I also submitted an inquiry to Big Mamma Group and haven’t heard anything from them either. That lack of customer service of just simply sending an email back is really not acceptable - especially after spending nearly £180 at Ave Mario. In addition, I have also tried to call numerous times and their phone number sends you directly to an AI assistant who will not allow you to talk an actual employee. So, if you go to Ave Mario, the carpaccio is yummy, pizzas were good, but watch your belongings and don’t expect support from them after the fact! Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 4
