Hi Stuart, we believe that our retail sites provide customers good value with high-quality fuels,  convenience  foods,  cafes, and other services, all in highly convenient locations. We aim to price fuels competitively and monitor the prices we set daily on a site-by-site basis. There are around 1,200 bp branded retail sites in the UK –   bp owns and operates just over 300 of these and the remaining are run by dealers who operate under the bp brand. bp is only able to set the pump price at the retail sites we operate, and we aim to price competitively with other sites in the local area. Fuel prices take into account a range of factors including local and global market conditions, the cost of operations and the cost of delivering fuel to a particular retail site or area. Taxes - duty and VAT - also make up a significant proportion of the price. Thanks, ^Terri
