regarding bacco lounge in rugby
my wife and i have been patronizing your establishment for several years
we have spent at least ten thousand pounds there and most
of the time its been friendly and welcoming
since covid we stopped going as did many other regulars
now we have started to come back and something strange has occurred...
on saturday the 2nd of October i entered the bacco lounge and found a seat
and then went to order a tea,,all well and good,,,,,
it was a very wet day and after an hour i looked out of the window
and saw a long queue standing in the rain and not coming inside
at one point a lady came and greeted them but then she went away
and no one was there to greet the queue for at least ten minutes
all the people standing there for no reason i could see...
there was plenty of empty tables but they just stood there ,,,
eventually a lady came to guide them in,,but it took a long time,,,
i must say i didnt notice the sign when i came in which tells people
to wait till advised where to sit...
you see ive never seen this system before in bacco
so i presume its a relic from covid which was understandable at that time
but if there is a worry about covid now' then as far as i can see..
having lots of people bunched up together trying to get in is more dangerous
than if you just let them make their own way in like it used to be
there seems to be plenty of room as far as i could see
so today on sunday there was no one in front of me so me and my wife walked in
and found a table then i went to get some tea at the bar
then suddenly a woman,,one of your staff who was eating at one of the tables
started to tell me to wait till i was greeted and told where i could sit
i told her i had a table and there was no one to greet me in any case
she became rather unpleasant when i didnt obey her demands and
and in the end i was forced to ignore her protestations,,,
she said someone would be there soon to greet me but from yesterdays
experience i had no intention of standing at the door until someone decided it was time
to greet me and do what ever they do,,,
this made me feel rather unwelcome and i could not see why this member of staff
wanted to make a customer feel this way
so my suggestion is,,get rid of this meet and greet nonsense and get back to normal
where people can enjoy your service
because i will not go back there till you change this system
which is a pity,,,
