Me, my partner and step daughter love coming here for movies. Caught out as one of our favourite restaurants closed for refurb, we came here today for lunch and it was great. SF chicken burger was banging, partner has the veggie/hummus sandwich which she loved, and they did some beans on toast (despite not being on the menu) for the kiddo. The carrot cake (and cakes generally) are incredible. They have a small but great selection of alcohol and just a great atmosphere. It's always reasonably busy but rarely loud, and a great spot for watching the world go by. Can't believe there are only a handful of reviews as The Quad is truly a real gem in Derby. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Been here a few times however on my last visit the staff member at the door had a terrible attitude. This really put me off going back. The Book Cafe round the corner has a lot more character
