Apart from The Brendon Arms this was the only other place in Bude we ate dinner during our stay there. The food was mediocre, especially the Chicken Tikka Biriyani, my wifes go-to indian food, so she has a lot of experience of the dish and she found it disappointing. My meal was pleasant enough. Peshwari Nan was tasty, likewise the appetiser poppadums and pickles. Communicating was a challenge due to the excessively loud indian music and, sadly, the halting English of the owner and assistant, albeit we did try to strike up conversation. Prices ok, but it doesnt match up to other Indian restaurants we've used over the years, in terms of food taste. The restaurant is small and has about 10 covers of different table sizes. Parking would be roadside. Price per person: £20–30 Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 2

First Indian takeaway in Bude having just moved down. Was a random choice but turned out to be a good choice. Good food, fresh and tasty. No delivery but as it was only down the road I collected. Nice owners service great. Will be our go to. Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

If you are looking for high-quality Indian food in Bude, look no further than Bayleaf. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is warm and inviting—it feels more like being welcomed into a friend's home than a restaurant. The food is exceptional. You can tell they take pride in using fresh, local ingredients; the Kozi Rose was incredibly tender and perfectly balance clearly made with care—light, fresh, and bursting with flavour. What truly sets Bayleaf apart, though, is the service. The staff are attentive and the owner often takes the time to chat with guests, making the whole evening feel special. Whether you’re a local or just visiting the coast, Bayleaf is easily one of the best dining spots in town. Highly recommended for a sit-down meal or a top-tier takeaway!
