Bude, as usual, was heaving with tourists and all the overpriced coffee shops were filling up. But walk just round the corner from the town centre and there is the Bencoolen inn, unaccountably virtually empty. Plenty of tables outside in the sunshine but we opted to sit inside in the cool. The food was excellent, there was a very good pint of proper job and it was all reasonably priced. The friendly guy behind the bar even put the rest of our daughters (massive) pizza in a takeaway box for her. Excellent pub, we'll be back.

Really good at the Bencoolen. Came here for sunday lunch 2 years ago nothing changed. Still brilliant staff are really friendly .Food hot and delicious. From the West Brom gang.
