The beer is always fresh and pleasant to drink and this pub has a nice atmosphere. Also, I have never experienced drinking an 'off' pint of draught beer at this venue. Kate and Terry are very experienced publicans and they know how to run a pub and take care of their customers. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Visited the Bird In Hand, Gravel Road, Bromley for the first time on Monday evening to meet a friend in the beer garden. The lady serving behind the bar was friendly and helpful throughout. However, both of us felt our Birra Moretti pints tasted off and had an unpleasant aftertaste. We politely returned them and replacement drinks were provided without issue. I have drunk Moretti in many other establishments and immediately felt something was not right with these pints. Shortly afterwards, the landlord came to our table, tapped me on the shoulder and, in front of my partner and young son, accused us of being "rude" for returning the drinks. He stated that he had "been in the pub trade for over 30 years" and that "nobody else had complained about the beer". He then told us that we could finish our drinks but were not welcome to return. In many years of visiting pubs, I can count on one hand the number of times I have returned a drink. We raised the issue politely and simply expected the matter to end once the drinks had been replaced. Both myself and my friend independently agreed that the original pints did not taste right. Unfortunately, what should have been a routine customer service matter left us feeling unwelcome and uncomfortable. As first-time visitors, it was a disappointing experience and not somewhere I would choose to visit again, despite being local to the area. Price per person: £1–10
