Visited as a family group of 5 adults, we all had the Sunday roast and opted for beef. All agreed that it was the best roast we’d had in years..maybe ever.Friendly staff and nice drinks just completed a great experience Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We spent quite some time in The Blue Anchor during the Pirate Festival. The atmosphere was amazing. Everyone was so friendly.. even without the excitement of the festival I would still like this place for the age and history. Price per person: £20–30 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Staff & management friendly, food took over 40 minutes to arrive, we were told they were waiting on the fish to cook...fish seemed to be over cooked and the cottage pie that I had ordered was like a dish of slop...was full of water and the mash (not much) was very runny...the veg that was on the side of the plate was decent...had to still pay full price ( I'm annoyed at myself due to the fact it was inedible) , management had been dotting around the whole time we were in, which was a while, but when it come to being able to speak to her she was nowhere to be seen ...typical
