The restaurant has a great atmosphere and a welcoming ambiance, and the service was attentive and friendly. My friend ordered the burger with rice, and I tried the steak—it was absolutely delicious! They offer a variety of sauces and seasonings that you can use for dipping or mix into your rice, which adds even more flavor. The soup and rice come with free refills, which is a nice bonus. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience. Highly recommend! Price per person: $30–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The hamburg was good (a tad dry), but the steak was the star in my opinion. The soup was the best thing surprisingly. Service was excellent. We’re still debating whether it’s worth the price tag, but overall it was a great experience. Price per person: $40–50 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

The $50 "Experience" That Leaves Room for Dessert Elsewhere! Boru Toronto is a beautiful space, but the experience is designed around a "catch." After waiting in line to get in, you are immediately funneled to a kiosk where a hostess stands over you to explain the menu while you order. By the time you realize the price has been hiked to $38 during their soft opening and that a mandatory 15% service charge plus tax brings the total to $49.38 per person, you’re already hungry and committed. It feels like you're forced to either "suck it up" or walk out after the wait. The Reality of the Meal:. Small Portions: You get three patties, but each is roughly the size of a golf ball (as you can see in the photo, using the egg yolk and glass for scale). For $50, you expect to leave full, but that simply wasn't the case here. Bland Flavor: The meat itself is very plain. They offer condiments, but they are a necessity rather than an optional extra because the patty lacks basic seasoning, aroma, and depth. Pacing Issues: They bring the rice out immediately, but the burger takes 5–10 minutes to arrive. I had to ask for a fresh bowl because the first one was cold by the time the meat arrived. The Service Fee: A 15% charge ($5.70) is mandatory, yet the "servers" only really refill water. Final Verdict:. While the establishment is aesthetically pleasing and the staff is Japanese (though the owners are not), the business model feels designed to capitalize on hype rather than value, taste, or texture. I do want to thank the owner for bringing this kind of diversity to Toronto, as it is a unique concept for the city, but it remains a one-time visit for the "experience." As you can see based on my review, I’m not an influencer I'm a diner looking for a quality meal, and I wouldn't go back. Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4 Price per person: $50–60 Vegetarian options: No because you must order the burger patty Parking space: Difficult to find parking Parking options: Paid parking lot, Paid street parking
