We ate from this Indian takeaway a few times, during our Lake District holiday in August 2021. They have a variety of traditional Indian and Bangladeshi cuisine on the menu, all cooked in their open kitchen, so you get to enjoy seeing your meal being cooked. We found the food very tasty and the staff very helpful. The prices were surprisingly cheap for the location (just on the border of the Lake District). We paid double the price for a king prawn curry from one of the nearby Indian restaurants.

If ordering from the British Raj takeaway, I would strongly suggest that you phone them beforehand to make sure they will be open when you get there. They can sometimes close before their published closing time (when business is quiet, they said to me). I have now corrected their opening hours on Google for them (with their permission). This reflects their new reduced opening hours.

Overall, I would give them the maximum rating of 5 stars, as they were very helpful and we enjoyed their food, the few times we ate from there.
