Celebrated a milestone anniversary here last night. Darlene and Jim went on beyond to make it a special evening for our party of 3, all arranged by a sister on behalf of all. Mushrooms sautéed in Jack Daniels really hit the spot with Ron's steak. Dean chose another seafood/steak item, also enjoyed. My seafood dish came tied up in a parchment paper pocket. Some items I had never eaten previously. Shrimp, scallops, muscles, trout were all delicious in their tomato based sauce on the bed of pasta. We enjoyed every thing about our special meal and especially the culinary expertise of this couple. May they be able to weather this challenging time in a small town. Balcarres is very fortunate to have a facility such as this. 20 minute drive from our home and big city dining on our plates. Good wishes DePourcq family.

Jim and Darlene assisted me (from Calgary) to arrange a wonderful celebration for our sister and brother-in-law's 50th Anniversary last night. It was SPECTACULAR and all the little extras that Darlene provided made the evening one to remember. From the champagne to fabulous entrees to yummy desserts, Jim and Darlene went above and beyond to make this night memorable. I live in Calgary and there isn't a restaurant here that would serve the quality of food (5 Star restaurant quality) that Jim serves out of his kitchen in Balcarres, Saskatchewan. Thank you on behalf of me and my 4 other sisters for hosting this 50th Anniversary celebration and treating our sister like royalty. She is still smiling this morning.
