A great Villiage pub, good food and real Ale, many years ago known as The Akeley Arms, famous even then for real ales and knowledgeable bar staff in the way they kept their beers and took pride in it. Especially the famous "Merry Monk" a fabulous Ruby Red Mild Ale. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We had been to visit Stowe and were looking for a place for lunch and found the Bull & Butcher. It looked a bit scruffy on the outside but inside was nice and friendly and had a garden where we ate. The menu was not too big, which is always a good sign in my opinion but a good variety of dishes. It was not typical pub food but well prepared, quality food. It was run by a young couple, he was the chef and his wife served us. We would certainly return
