As always, Burg Colmberg was a highlight to our trip in Franconia. The rooms and service were impeccable. The food was sublime. I would recommend Burg Colmberg to anyone visiting the area.

Colmberg Castle is the kind of place you visit once and immediately start planning to return. A friend who moved to Germany last year brought me, another friend, and her mother here so we could experience a piece of her new country. The approach to the castle is stunning in any weather, and the castle itself is even more impressive up close. From the storybook tower that feels straight out of Rapunzel, to the charming patio, the children’s playground, the sweeping views, the beautiful three‑window dining room, and the cozy four‑poster beds—every corner has its own “wow” moment. The food is delicious, and the service is attentive, including from the owners themselves. The amenities and comfort level far exceeded what I expected from such a historic property; the beds alone were wonderfully comfortable. And the value, especially compared to hotel prices in the U.S., is outstanding. A truly memorable stay—Colmberg Castle is absolutely worth returning to. Service: 5
