# Burgerhof Review: A Disappointing New Direction Having been a loyal customer at Burgerhof for years, I was intrigued when they announced their new "smash paddy" burgers. Unfortunately, my recent visit left much to be desired. The burger arrived wrapped in parchment paper, looking promising enough with a glossy brioche bun. However, the first bite revealed the disappointing reality. The supposedly "smashed" patty was barely discernible between the buns – more of a thin meat suggestion than an actual burger patty. What little meat was present lacked flavor and juiciness, the hallmarks of a good smash burger. Instead of the caramelized crust and beefy interior that makes smash burgers so appealing, Burgerhof's version tasted bland and processed. The meat-to-bun ratio was severely off-balance, leaving me with mostly bread and condiments. While the toppings (cheese, onions, and some greens) were fresh enough, they couldn't compensate for the fundamental flaw at the center of this burger experience. Burgerhof's pivot to smash burgers seems like a trendy move executed poorly. They've sacrificed quality for concept, and the result is a forgettable burger that fails to satisfy. Until they commit to more generous portions and better quality meat, I'll be taking my burger business elsewhere. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €10–20 Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3
