This cafe is in a lovely peaceful location. The staff are extremely friendly and the food was beyond delicious! My husband and I stopped here with our two children in the middle of a bike ride and there was enough choice for all of us. The children enjoyed it as much as we did!!! We would highly recommend this place! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We visited Cafe Afloat on April 19th as a group of three adults. While it's a charming location on the water, the experience was a bit frustrating due to drink errors and some awkwardness with the seating. The Drink Order: 1 Passionfruit Smoothie: Really nice and refreshing. 1 Cup of Tea: Standard and exactly what you’d expect. 1 Biscoff Frappe: This was the main disappointment. I paid extra for an added shot of coffee, but it was missing entirely. It didn't have much Biscoff flavor either, unless you were tasting the sauce directly. A quick tip: To me, a frappe without coffee is just a milkshake! If you're looking for that caffeine hit, double-check your cup before you head to your table. Atmosphere & Layout:. The cafe is quite intimate with around 6 tables available. They do have a Connect 4 game to keep kids entertained, which is a nice touch for families. However, the service logic was confusing. We were handed Order Number 21, but moments later they called out Number 7. Because we waited quite a while for just three drinks, we were "frowned upon" by other patrons waiting for space. We were even asked if we were leaving while we were still waiting for our drinks! It’s a bit uncomfortable sitting at an empty table for that long when the cafe is small. Navigational Warning:. The bridge from Pistons to the cafe is currently closed. To get there: If you're coming from near The Anchor, you’ll need to walk around the boat moorings. To get back: We found it easier to walk the opposite way towards the river and back up to the car. Final Thoughts: It’s a lovely setting, but the drink consistency and the ordering flow definitely need some work—especially when space is limited to just a few tables.
