I had the good fortune to make a stop at the Cafe on the Hill during a fairly lengthy hike. Setting is lovely, good food and good coffee delivered very promptly thanks to a friendly, courteous and attentive staff. Excellent sausage butty. Having, by chance, struck up conversation with owner Ian, I explained that my hike had hit some problems and he immediately and very kindly asked how he could help and offered me a lift to Chester. No problems, no questions asked. This really was a tremendous act and I feel very lucky that I stumbled into the Cafe on the Hill. Good cafe run by decent people. Thoroughly recommended. Will be back. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
