RACIST and RUDE staff. I ordered a non-alcoholic beer here. I needed wifi so I was planning to sit for 5-10 minutes. The beer costed €3 and they told me they only accept cash. One of the waitresses was so friendly and nice, so she described me where I can find an ATM in the same block. Just when I was leaving the restaurant, another waitress (black haired, around 40-50 years old, German-speaking, female) stopped me and asked me to leave my belongings there. I left my jacket there immediately with no discussion. So I had to put a $300 collateral for a €3 beer. Make it make sense. I was literally shocked. When I got back with the cash, my jacket was not even where I left it. The friendly cute waitress immediately walked to me and apologized for the other one’s behavior. Then the rude one came and said “I’m so sorry but this is Kreuzberg. People leave some jacket they never use and don’t come back”. I said “it’s okay” and I left. But I wish I called out the racist behavior. Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Our party of six had a lovely time at Cafe Jacques. I called ahead the day before (everyone speaks English) and was able to reserve an outside table, which was great so we could observe the neighborhood as well. The server/host explained that the menu, in German, was inside on the wall, and while there was no wine/drink menu, she could recommend pairings for us based on our selections, or we could ask for anything and she could probably deliver it (which she did!). One would think it could be costly, but everything was quite reasonably priced. The food was superb. Highly recommend the steak, and my husband got a chicken dish that he loved. The service was excellent; the host had a bit of a dry sense of humor. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €30–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
