After 30min waiting in the queue with my two dogs have been informed by one of the staff members that no dogs are allowed inside. I pointed out that there is no sign at the door and I wanted to simply order coffee takeaway (having waited that long especially!) Man was dismissive regardless, and no assistance offered. Poor service poor signage. Waste of time! Service: 1

My partner visited this cafe with our two dogs and had an incredibly frustrating experience. She waited patiently in the queue for 30 minutes, only for a man working there to come over and bluntly tell her that dogs aren't allowed. When she pointed out that there were no signs or information posted anywhere to indicate this policy, he was completely dismissive. Despite the poor communication on their end, she still tried to compromise and just order her coffee as a take-away, but he flat-out refused to serve her. There was no attempt to offer a simple alternative or common-sense solution—like letting her pay and bringing the take-away order outside to her. It’s perfectly fine if a business doesn't allow dogs, but that needs to be clearly signposted so people don't waste half an hour waiting in line. The combination of zero signage, a dismissive attitude, and an outright refusal to accommodate a simple take-away order makes for incredibly poor service. We won't be returning. fter exploring the National Galleries of Scotland, Café Modern One was the perfect place to refuel. The coffee was excellent, the scones were delicious, and the lovely outdoor seating was a huge plus. It’s a wonderful, relaxing spot to take a break from all the art! Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Whipped Cream & M'Mallows Vegetarian offerings: Vegetarian menu or section, Clearly labelled vegetarian dishes
