Located right next to the historic St John's Kirk in Perth city centre, Cafe Tabou is an absolute gem of a French brasserie. I had a wonderful five-star dining experience here. As an electric wheelchair user, I was impressed by the excellent level of disabled access with staff quick to help with doors going in and out. The entrance is completely smooth, the indoor layout is just about spacious enough to navigate,, and they have an accessible toilet that easily accommodates larger power-chairs. The staff were incredibly nice, welcoming, and accommodating from start to finish. The food was absolutely lovely. I ordered from their fantastic set menu, starting with refreshing aperitifs followed up with large bottle of sparkling water and a half-carafe of wine to accompany my food. First was a rich, authentic Fish & Seafood Bisque complete with garlic croutons and saffron rouille, followed by a spectacular Pan-Fried Breast of Corn-Fed Chicken main course with crispy parma ham. Because I wanted to try everything, I also added their beautiful Cheese Platter as an extra course, which came beautifully presented on slate with quince paste, chutney, and grapes. I was quite full by the end, so I finished with a refreshing Trio de Glaces ice cream served with a sesame tuile. The atmosphere was lively and full of character. I highly recommend Cafe Tabou for top-tier food and stress-free access in Perth! Price per person: £40–50 Recommendation for vegetarians: Not sure Vegetarian offerings: Clearly labelled vegetarian dishes Parking space: Not sure Parking: The restaurant sits on a completely pedestrianised, historic cobbled square right next to St John's Kirk, the oldest standing building in perth from 12th century, making it peaceful and easy to access via nearby drop-off points Wheelchair accessibility: As an electric wheelchair user who travels without a car, I found the central location incredibly easy to access. and I was impressed by the excellent level of disabled access at cafe tabou due to the staff being so helpful navigating me to an ideal table accommodating me with disabled toilet not the largest turning radius or size but still for size of the place it was great and used it without issues.
