Their cakes are really nice when they're fresh, however it would have been better if they used a little less icing on the outside. It feels like a good 20% of the cake is just icing. Now onto the bad. Their cake pots are very disappointing. At least they were on our most recent visit. We selected three different flavours. Plain Chocolate, Dubai Chocolate and Strawberry. All three were missing one key component - a soft cake center. That is the heart of the dessert and if that's missing, then you're in for a world of disappointment. The Strawberry one in particular was the most egregious. It had a funky almost petroleum like taste to it. I don't think I'll ever get their Cake Pots again. Their Cakes do still hold up quite well, which is why I've still given Cake Box Rochdale 3 stars out of 5.
