purchased 2 vouchers one on 20th of Jan second on 15th feb tried to book on 19th Feb Thursday and got refused reason was Chinese new year of which it wasnt till 22nd Sunday once again tried to book on 12th March was informed that the Resturant is currently closed and informed me that there Resturant in Warrington is taking bookings these vouchers were specifically bought to use in the Liverpool restaurant Groupon have been contacted and have advised hee Kee of my contact e mail adress as of yet no contact these vouchers were bought through pay pal and bank system in next few days will inform them of suspect fraudulant activity as I'm not receiving what was advretisd aln reso they are still advertising there Liverpool resturant will be informing Liverpool trading standards tomorrow buyer beware. In reply to Hee Kee response I have received one banked repayment in the way of a credit on my account on the other voucher recieved nothing so have instigated a call back for a refund through my bank (my personal thoughts are how can you sell vouchers when your restaurant is closed with no reopening date ). Thank you for your message.Firstly, we would like to clarify that Chinese New Year for Chinese communities traditionally lasts from the 1st to the 7th day of the Lunar New Year, which is a week-long festival. The public celebration in Liverpool Chinatown is usually held on the nearest Sunday for convenience, which may differ from the traditional dates observed by Chinese families and businesses.Secondly, our Liverpool restaurant is currently temporarily closed due to an urgent repair of the kitchen extraction system, which must be completed to meet safety requirements before reopening. We have already posted updates on our Facebook and Instagram, and a notice has also been placed at the restaurant entrance.This temporary closure is due to maintenance and safety compliance, and not related to any fraudulent activity.Regarding the vouchers purchased through Groupon, we will explain the situation to Groupon and request that they arrange a refund according to their policy.Thank you for your understanding.Hee Kee Restaurant

This is a great place if you are hungry when near to the University hospital. I had not eaten since a light breakfast, and was ready for a tasty meal! I ordered the Char Siu pork and crispy duck with fried rice and Choi vegetables, for £10.20. It arrived within two minutes! A huge dish. The quality was good, and the proportions enormous.

The duck was very crispy and tasty, the meat tender, succulent and delicate flavoured. The duck skin was very crispy, and as good as any I have had in top Hong Kong restaurants. The fried rice was also very good, and the blanched Chinese cabbage leaves were perfectly served - i.e. just a little crunchy. The Char Siu was very lean, but rather dry and not as tasty as I have had before. But the overall quality of the food was very good, and excellent value. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

If you come here to eat inside (as opposed to take away), then look out for the condiments table, where there is extra soy sauce, a sweet chilli sauce, and a very good chilli oil sauce in a stainless steel pitcher. If you like spicy food, then this is a must have! You need to stir the contents of the pitcher as the chilli part settles and then spoon (cautiously) on to you bowl. The impact is as good as being at a genuine Dia Pai Dong in Hong Kong!
