Dropped in without a booking after visiting the rock houses on a Sunday. Had a nice Sunday dinner that arrived quickly and hot. Staff behind the bar were friendly and quick to help. Would recommend. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

This was our first visit to The Cat Inn after our friends invited us. Although we live locally we'd never been there before. We sat outside as it was a warm evening on the benches and there was plenty of room to accommodate more passers-by The four of us decided to have a drink to start with before we ordered food and inside there is a quaint little bar with a blackboard list of ales, ciders and largers on offer with their various colour, strength and prices. Bar staff were pleasant and very greeting, happy to help and they also accepted card payments too 'Golden' was the preferred ale and it was sweet yet smooth and without any after taste. It reminded me of the time I used to have Cafreys a great choice. We grabbed some menus from the bar which were on an A4 piece of paper clipped to a board. There was plenty of choice as I couldn't decide on the Fish and Chips or Steak and Ale Pie but finally went for the pie and it was delicious- perfect choice. It came with crust pastry on a plate along with home style thin chips which were like Grandma's favorite recipe, crisp yet brown all over and the flavour was something out of this world. The pie had chunks of steak with rich gravy and a side of veg and another small jug of gravy to boot. All piping hot and well presented. The other meals we had included lasagne and chips, homemade kebab skewers. All great choices Prices were reasonable at around £12-£13 each meal and as there was plenty on everyone's plate we didn't mind. We didn't have enough room for a dessert as only the men could finish their main meals so hope you have an appetite Well done chef and all those at The Cat Inn, definitely we'll be going back again now we've found this little treasure trove 5 *****

Claims to be wheelchair accessible but no disabled parking spaces or an accessible toilet. Main toilets have a step up. I appreciate this is a historic pub but adaptations can be made.
