Our annual fantasy football winners curry, Chilli lounge took centre stage but failed to live up to expectations. The only thing lower than the rating I’ll give would be the number of rescue breaths needed to revive the chicken we were served. Our arrival was prompt and in line with our booking and we were seated swiftly and without incident. Menus were handed out with care so we started the evening feeling safe and welcome. Popadoms arrived and were of good size and the expected shape, the dips however were as bland and uninspiring as meeting Dougie from McFly at the bar and still buying your own Coke Zero. Starters arrived reasonably promptly afterwards however we were all disappointed to find the only garnish was a chunk of lemon. Not a side salad in sight. The kebab was tasty enough however the chicken was quite obviously cooked from frozen and provided a stern test to the teeth. The late night dentist next door was almost put on stand by in case a crown popped off. Whilst we were hacking at the chicken with ever increasing force we were phoned by the restaurant to enquire why we hadn’t turned up for our reservation. A wave and a cheer soon soothed the irritated staff member however on reflection I do wonder if our mains were punishment for their error. When our mains arrived we found more rubber chicken that could possibly have been revived it was so under cooked and my lamb Achari contained more salt than the Dead Sea causing it to be completely inedible. I am writing this review early with the taste of salt still burning my tongue in case my kidneys pack up in the night. The other meals in our group were palatable, however when you’ve ordered Rogan for 164 consecutive curries your opinions don’t really count for much. The rice and naan were absolutely fine. At least the after eight mint and coffee were minty and warm respectively. An additional bad turn blighted our evening when it was found that the soap dispenser in the amply sized wash room was out of soap. This soured the evening even further upset our elder statesman more than the potential food poisoning and kidney failure about to be suffered by his offspring. If we survive the night we will not be returning to Chilli lounge. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1 Order type: Dine in Price per person: £30–40

Went to chilli lounge tonight and got my food and my chicken was not cooked so I told them and they said don’t worry it’s only one bit of chicken if I could give a zero I would will not go back
