We had such a disappointing meal here for my mother’s birthday. The service and food were both highly disappointing. The manager reduced the price of some of the items and took the wine off the bill to compensate for the disappointment but it doesn’t correct the overall experience. You could hear plates / glasses regularly being dropped, the waiter did not know how to open a bottle of fizz - the cork went flying and hit the ceiling before flying across the room towards other diners. The chateaubriand was tasteless and the veal not as tasty as our local Italian. I’m sad to say standards have dropped and we won’t be returning to the restaurant. Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 1 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £100+

We had a fantastic experience at the Clock Tower. A special mention has to go to Sam, who was incredibly welcoming from the moment we arrived. His hospitality skills were second to none, and nothing was too much trouble throughout our visit. Sam’s friendly attitude, professionalism, and attention to detail really stood out and made the whole experience even more enjoyable. It’s rare to receive service of such a high standard, and he is a real credit to the team. Thank you, Sam, for making us feel so welcome – we’ll definitely be back! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We attended the Clocktower brasserie for my Dad’s birthday and overall disappointed. The food was quite nice however it was not anything special, the price was ok for the location and the quality of the ingredients. The service however was completely appalling, when we walked in as a table of 8, we were all welcomed with caution and were sat in a separate part of the restaurant than the other diners which felt very purposeful. I completely understand that I, myself, were dressed in shorts and a t-shirt as I had come straight from work, the rest of the party however were dressed very lovely and did not deserve the segregation. I feel like we were very rushed and were not given adequate time to view the menu and fully take in what we may have liked. The rest of the party enjoyed their food apart from myself and my sister. My food was the seafood tagliatelle which was very nice however lacked any flavour dimensions. My sister however ordered a pizza with chicken peppers and sweetcorn, when the pizza was brought to the table I looked at it and noticed that it was missing the chicken (honest mistake). However, when I mentioned this to one of the waitresses I was met with a tone, I apologised as British people do and she said she would resolve the issue. Although she then left the table and left the pizza in front of my sister to my confusion, after just over 5 minutes she returned with a bowl of shredded chicken, a viable resolution for the issue BUT she when my sister went to put the chicken on her pizza we had been brought a bowl of cold precooked chicken. I found this ridiculous and my sister could not eat it, we both felt that we had been taken for fools and the waitress must have thought she was playing a practical joke because that is not remotely funny. I managed to get the attention of another waitress who took the pizza away to be cooked from with the chicken. 15 minutes later, everyone had finished their meals and my sister still had no food, when it finally came 5 minutes later it wasn’t anything special. They had also added a £50 service charge which I contested with the party but we paid it regardless. The food is adequate, the service is snobby. Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £50–60
