Good music, but awful comedy, overpriced drinks, and cash-only The music and retro dance floor at Club 54 Nightclub can be a good time, but the Comedy at Club 54 segment needs a complete overhaul. The host, Ben Guyatt, is simply not funny. His entire bit feels incredibly pathetic, and he relies heavily on uncomfortable sexual jokes and offensive humour. He clearly thinks he is hilarious, but it just creates an awkward, cringeworthy atmosphere. Beyond the bad comedy, people coming here should know that the venue is cash-only at the bar. They do have an ATM inside, which charges a fee. On top of that, the drinks are noticeably overpriced compared to other spots around the city. If you decide to go, make a stop at your own bank's ATM first, skip the comedy hours completely, and just show up late for the dancing. Service: 3 Atmosphere: 2

The club hasn't changed much in the last 30 years. You can still go for comedy and dancing, with two different bar/lounge options plus an outdoor patio. The drinks seem expensive to me, but I don't go out much so maybe it's average. A bottle of water for $6 is highway robbery.
