We came here for afternoon tea as a birthday celebration and our table had been decorated with birthday confetti which was a lovely touch. Our server was friendly and accommodating - one of our party doesnt eat ham and she let her swap the ham sandwich for an alternative one. We got an unlimited amount of hot drinks that included coffee, hot chocolate and various teas. I would say check that you have been charged correctly when you pay as they tried to charge us for prosecco which we didnt have. Price per person: £20–30

They gave me a pizza with no toppings with only cheese and mustard. Ordered a stout and got a watered down version of Guinness. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3 Price per person: £10–20

Thank you for your review Ruuri - all guest feedback is appreciated and I'm really disappointed to hear that your pizza was so far from the description of anything we offer. I will speak to both our kitchen and front of house teams around this subject.I am confused on your suggestion that you were served a watered down version of Guinness. While we offer a range of dark beers including a nitro porter, craft keg options and varied cask lines, I can assure you we do not add water to beers nor do we sell Guinness. While I appreciate that taste varies, we have received fantastic feedback from guests on the ales on offer over the weekend. My first thought is that you received a pint of cask ale, not anticipating the difference in texture and flavour to a nitro stout.Thank you again for your feedback and sincerely hope to see you again soon.

I had never visited this pub before. I went in with a group of people yesterday evening. I was very impressed with the decor and the general feeling of the place. The Cock & Hoop is one of those pubs that on entering you want to spend some time in, rather than to walk out after one drink or before. We went downstairs where there is a seated area and found that was a very enjoyable and cozy and comfortable space to be in. Last night’s visit was a really enjoyable experience and one I would more than happily be happy to repeat. A very well-deserved and justified five stars for The Cock & Hoop. Atmosphere: 5
