One of my favourite restaurant in London, and definitely my favourite Chinese cuisine restaurant in London. Fantastic food and excellent service by the staffs. Truly authentic Chinese cuisine. Right opposite Oceania House , a historic site. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Order type: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £60–70

A lovely hidden gem in Marylebone! We visited Cocoro without a reservation and were very kindly accommodated as walk-ins. We were given a nice table on the main floor, as I preferred not to sit downstairs, and the service throughout the meal was friendly, quick and attentive. The restaurant itself is small and intimate, with seating on two levels. The lower level is reached by a fairly narrow staircase, so it may not be the easiest place in terms of accessibility. Tables are also quite close together and the restaurant can feel busy and compact. Surprisingly, though, this actually adds to its charm. It has a cosy, authentic little neighbourhood-restaurant atmosphere, and despite the limited space, we never felt uncomfortable. One of the staff members taking our order seemed quite new and had a little difficulty explaining some of the dishes in English, but she was very pleasant and this didn’t affect our overall experience. The food was the highlight. The sushi was absolutely outstanding—fresh, beautifully prepared and genuinely some of the best sushi we had during our trip to London. The ramen was also delicious and full of flavour. The only downside for us was that quite a large number of dishes, particularly some of the ramen options, contained pork. As we don’t eat pork, we had to be quite careful when ordering and our choices were more limited. I would love to see a few more seafood, chicken or other non-pork options added to the menu in the future. That said, everything we ordered was excellent, portions were good, service was efficient, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality and for Marylebone. Cocoro has that small, cosy, unpretentious neighbourhood feel that I really enjoy. Delicious Japanese food without the hype or inflated prices. I would definitely recommend it and happily return.
