I don’t typically frequent bars, but my visit to Core Values Cider Co. completely won me over. If you prefer your ciders on the smoother, slightly sweeter side rather than bone-dry, bitter, or aggressively crisp, this place is an absolute must-visit. I tried their latest creation, a cherry/apple cider blend, and it was fantastic—perfectly balanced and incredibly flavorful. The Strawberry Shortcake cider was another standout on the sweeter side (I actually bought a can to take home with me), and the black currant cider was also very good. I initially assumed they crafted their own root beer since they make such excellent cider; they don't currently, but I'd highly encourage them to try it out down the road! Even though they were out of the pickled vegetables when we visited, the hospitality was flawless. They hooked us up with a large bowl of popcorn accompanied by three distinct seasoning salts. It was incredibly fun trying each one—while the salt and vinegar was great, the dill seasoning was easily the crowd favorite. To top it off, the bartender was incredibly engaging. We had a great conversation and walked away learning a ton about local Canmore history, Canadian heritage, and the backstory of the bar itself. Exceptional drinks, brilliant service, and an open, welcoming vibe. I’m already planning my next trip back specifically for that cherry cider! Price per person: $10–20

If you’re like me and you love a good cider then you’ll love this spot! I got a flight to try a few different flavours and ended up buying a couple cans to take with me up to Alaska. The bartender from Yellowknife was so great to talk to, sorry I forgot your name but thank you so much for the conversation - I made it safely to Anchorage!
