Had a lovely lunch here today. The weather was appalling so decided to treat ourselves to a pub lunch. After looking at reviews for pubs in the area we settled on The Craven Heifer and I’m so pleased we did. A lovely warm welcome from the owner who offered us a couple of seating options to accommodate me and my wife, two children and a dog. My son and I went for the steak and ale pie which was amazing! I’m very picky with my meat and don’t like fatty bits but I didn’t need to worry. Beautiful, tender meat in a rich gravy and with the best chips I’ve ever had in a pub. Apparently the landlady does them herself by hand and is particularly proud of them and rightly so. They were fabulous. My wife had scampi which she really enjoyed and my younger, fussy son had the chicken nuggets. He finished the lot which says speaks volumes to how good they were. A big thank you to The Craven Heifer for making a wet and windy day much brighter. We won’t hesitate to call again when we are in the area. Service: 5
