I had not been to D Grande in a while and pretty disappointed on my last visit. Overall food quality has declined quite a bit from my initial experiences here when they had just opened. I am from Dallas and so coming here always feels like getting a bit of home even living in London. Unfortunately did not have that feeling on this occasion. The guacamole, in particular, is sour, tastes nothing like it should, and leaves me only believing they have sacrificed on quality. Unfortunately we got the loaded queso, so the guac infiltrated this dish as well, can’t really speak to it otherwise. The fajitas are tasty, if more meagerly portioned than prior visits. They have also done away with the swirl frozen drink, better known in Dallas as a mambo taxi, which is too bad. Otherwise, I get its market practice in London, but charging for table salsa, and having very few authentic hot sauce options, is certainly not reflective of true Tex Mex, which D Grande purports itself to be. Tex Mex pretty much always qualifies as a cheat meal, so it’s gotta hit when you decide to go. Will have to find another option when I decide that’s what I’m craving. If you’re visiting D Grande in Chiswick, the loaded queso is an absolute must-order. The melted cheese topped with guacamole, sour cream, salsa and a generous spoonful of beef chilli con carne creates the perfect balance of rich, creamy and fresh flavours. We could happily order it again on its own. The beef burrito was another standout. We chose the single chilli spice level, which added a really enjoyable kick without overwhelming the dish. The fresh tang of lime lifted all the flavours beautifully and made it taste incredibly vibrant. We also had the shrimp tacos and beef brisket tacos, both of which were packed with flavour and made with fresh ingredients. The street corn was a great side to complete the meal. The portions are generous, the food feels freshly prepared, and everything we tried was well balanced and full of flavour. Friendly service, excellent value and somewhere we’ll definitely be returning to. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £30–40 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

Excellent Tex Mex place, my favourite I've ever been to. They have lovely staff. The food is great, I especially love the chilli and queso with tortilla chips. Their frozen margaritas are just as good, and the jug has a surprising number of cocktails in it. Their happy hour is great value. I've been going for my birthday each year since 2022, and I don't see that changing anytime soon. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £20–30
