Southeast is apparently where it's at for Korean restaurants. In the area around 34th Ave and 93rd St, I could already count five Korean restaurants in that small radius. Ginseng, Miga, Pocha Seoul, Korean Grill, and Daore. I'll make my way to all of them eventually, but let's start with Daore. Daore originally opened its doors in 2015, but reopened in October 2017 under new ownership. They recently celebrated their first birthday a couple weeks ago, so it felt like a good time to try them out.

My wife and I had been craving Korea, had driven by a few times and decided to try it with the family. They seated us and gave us menus and...... We sat for OVER 20 MINUTES BEING IGNORED!! They didn't bring or offer drinks or even come to our table once. There was 3 staff up front and 3 occupied table, hard to miss a table of four by accident. After reading the whole menu twice and picking what we wanted we waited and waited and waited. I finally looked at my phone to check the time. We still stayed another 12 minutes before we walked out. Only as we left with daughters crying they are hungry did they acknowledge we existed. We went across the street to Pocha Seoul and had excellent food within a few minutes, if you want good Korean I would suggest you do the same.

Service was friendly and the kitchen very efficient. We were super stuffed after a family dinner at our now fav Korean restaurant. We had the Galbi or BBQ beef ribs, fiery spicy savory and very aromatic pork bone soup, crazy crispy delish seafood pancake, spicy savory rice stick, hearty hot stone bowl of bibimbap, additive bites of kimbab - think korean style pork tempura sushi rolls, crispy Korean fried chicken with a wicked tasty soy based sauce, and tasty japchae noodles. Highly recommend sipping on some homemade SikHye (no pic), a gingerroot and roasted rice sweetened iced tea- incredibly refreshing and tasty!!
