To say I’m disappointed would be a complete understatement. Straight of the bat as we came in our host was the rudest host you could come across. Acting like he was high and mighty because we came in cycle gear and he was wearing a suit. He snubbed his nose up at us straight away. Seated us at our table. As far from other patrons as possible when the place was completely empty. I immediately clicked on to what was happening and it got worse from there. We ordered drinks. They said they’d get to it. They took our food order after 10 minutes, still no drinks. We go up to the bar and ask. They say wait. We wait 15 more minutes. I go up to the bar and say “can you cancel our order please? We have been waiting for a for 25 minutes and the place is empty and every one is getting served.” She actually laughs in my face. Full on laughs. Looks me up and down and laughs again. No apologies. Nothing. Didn’t even eat here. Never will try. This has gone so downhill as I can see from Owston Lodge. Meal type: Other Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

I spotted Dario’s on the way to York from Doncaster and I’m glad I stopped. There is nothing subtle about the flavours of the food. They are strong and authentic and very much like the food I ate when I was working in Naples. I always gauge an Italian restaurant on how well the ragu is made and tastes and it definitely didn’t disappoint here. The garlic bread left no prisoners in respect of the garlic content and definitely tasted the way it is meant to. The service was excellent and even though it was relatively quiet the staff were friendly, courteous and attentive and I couldn’t fault them in any way. The atmosphere was enjoyable and quiet although I’m sure that it would probably get more noisy during busy periods. On the whole, Dario’s is a good place to eat for any type of occasion and I don’t think you would be disappointed in any way Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian offerings: Not sure Dietary restrictions: Caters for GF
