I’ve been a regular customer at Deville, and I used to really enjoy both the coffee and the cranberry orange muffins. Unfortunately, over the past few weeks, the experience has changed noticeably. The coffee no longer tastes as good or as consistent as it used to. On one visit I even asked for it to be remade because it wasn’t what I expected. Since then, every coffee I’ve had has felt different from the quality I was used to. The cranberry orange muffins have also changed. They used to be moist, fresh, and delicious, but lately they’ve been dry and much less enjoyable. Another thing I’ve noticed is that all the muffins and pastries are now individually wrapped in plastic wrap while sitting in the display case. I don’t know the reason for this, but it wasn’t done before. It doesn’t look very appealing and makes the presentation feel less fresh. I’m not sure whether these changes are related to different preparation, new staff, or a different supplier, but something has definitely changed. I hope management looks into it because Deville used to be one of my favourite cafés, and I’d love to see it return to the quality that kept me coming back. good food and coffee, however, the current floor manager is unqualified to run a coffee shop like this. 50% of the time, they get my order wrong. Equivalent to Tim's Service to be honest with double the price. Don't give the manager position to kids, is the lesson here. Two Kiwis out and about walking in Calgary and just happened to wander past Deville Coffee in Kensington. So glad it time for a coffee! Lovely staff and possibly the best flat white I'd had in Canada (lots of Canadian coffee menus don't offer a flat white). Also had an apple fritter which was absolutely delicious. Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
