We had tickets to celebrate me moving to Ireland (obviously wanted to celebrate at Dublin calling). They called out on of our friends while we walked up to the line and said he can’t get in because he’s “too drunk” and he wasn’t even drinking. He didn’t let us in, wouldn’t change his mind even after we gave context. Just really poor service and I wouldn’t recommend this place. Ruined our night out which was supposed to be a celebration. Really disappointed. Service: 1

Extremely disappointing and concerning experience at Dublin Calling Adelaide in Toronto. I was denied access early one Wednesday evening because I had my service dog with me. She was clearly wearing her service-dog vest and when security challenged me, I explained calmly, repeatedly that she is a service animal for medical assistance and even showed documentation confirming that I require her for disability-related reasons. The security guard continued rudely referring to her as a “pet,” repeatedly told me he didn't care if she was a service animal because dogs weren’t allowed, and ultimately told me I could not stay. When I asked if he understood what a service animal was, he made it clear that he did and that he simply did not care. He was incredibly rude and dismissive, and even taunting throughout the interaction. A female employee also stood nearby and witnessed what was happening without intervening. This is particularly disturbing because service animals are not pets. Under Ontario accessibility law, people with disabilities who use service animals must be permitted to enter public areas of businesses with them unless the animal is specifically excluded by another law. Ontario’s own guidance specifically includes restaurants, and service animals are permitted in the customer areas of food premises. This wasn’t a misunderstanding about whether my dog was a service animal. They were explicitly told, shown documentation, and I was still denied access. No one with a disability should have to argue with security about whether their medical aid is “allowed,” much less be treated with hostility while doing so. For a Toronto bar to handle service-animal access and disability accommodation this way is a massive red flag. I sincerely hope management takes it seriously and ensures its staff and security understand Ontario accessibility requirements. Service: 1
