The staff are very lovely. The samosa chaat was beautifully presented and tasty. The chilli paneer was also tasty, be warned it’s definitely spicy! Dal makhani was great very creamy, Bombay aloo was okay. Mango lassi was the perfect accompaniment to the meal. The naan is perfect! We’re delighted you enjoyed the Samosa Chaat, Chilli Paneer, creamy Dal Makhani and especially the naan, looks like the Mango Lassi had an important job keeping that chilli under control too! ️We’re glad you enjoyed almost everything… although we’ll admit, after reading all those lovely comments, that fourth star had us wondering what we need to cook to charm the fifth one out of you! We stumbled into EKTARA quite by accident on our first night in London, having just flown in from Paris and running purely on fumes at that point. We weren't expecting much beyond a quick bite, but what we found was one of the warmest, most memorable meals of our trip. We were greeted by who I believe is the owner, and her smile alone was enough to lift our jet-lagged spirits. She took our order with genuine warmth, and when I asked about an Indian side dish that wasn't listed on the menu, she looked genuinely surprised anyone would know it, then admitted she usually kept a batch in the back just for herself, and graciously brought some out for us to try anyway. That kind of generosity sets a place apart immediately. The food itself was outstanding. My chicken tikka masala was rich and beautifully balanced, and my husband's chicken madras delivered exactly the punch she warned him it would, he loved every bite. The garlic naan was some of the best we've had, pillowy and perfectly charred. We left full, happy, and already talking about going back even though we’re only in town for a few days. And we did return… the very next day, with a friend who was craving Indian food. This time we were welcomed by who I assume is the co-owner, who was every bit as kind and made us feel like part of the family from the moment we sat down. When my husband asked for something similar to what he'd had the night before, the owner simply told him not to worry, he was the chef, and he'd make something exactly to his taste. Our friend followed suit, and both of them were thrilled with the results. My butter chicken was every bit as good as the meal before, and between the naan, the basmati rice, and a wonderful appetizer, we once again left with full bellies and big smiles. EKTARA isn't just great food , it's genuine hospitality from people who clearly love what they do. Highly recommend, and a heartfelt thank you to the owners for making two nights of our trip so special. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We absolutely love that you found us "by accident"—they do say the best discoveries are the unplanned ones! It was a real pleasure welcoming you both, and we're so happy that a meal meant to cure jet lag turned into two memorable evenings.We're especially glad you enjoyed the "off-menu" surprise—that's usually our little secret!
