Fantastic experience from the minute Cathy took my booking! So glad I took up the recommendation. Cathy and her family have this place so right and we will definitely return, very soon. Every single part of this experience was spot on. Wish i could get a table every week but it was obvious many people know of this hidden gem , blending into plain sight. Had starters, main courses and didn’t want to miss out on desert so they let us take it home! Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £60–70 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Great food albeit overpriced. Beautifully presented restaurant and delicious wine but the female manager was very rude/bossy on several occasions during the evening. We chose not to make an issue of it as we didn’t want to spoil the evening of our fellow diners. It’s a shame she’s not as considerate! We’ve experienced a little of this before but went back giving her the benefit of the doubt. Sadly we won’t be returning.

Ellingtons what a hidden gem! Food is fabulous fillets that melt in your mouth and the Madeira sauce is out of this world. I can honestly say that my husband and I have never had even a mediocre meal here, it’s always a full on treat. I know that you only do 3 nights a week now but please don’t stop as you are our favourite restaurant in Merseyside. Thank you Cathy and Tony and your brother the best chef around Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £40–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Filet of Beef
