3 ladies at the elms. 2 carvery's 1 salad. We were told as soon as the salad was ready we would be informed so we were able to go for our carvery. Had to wait for someone to serve our meat, there was only 1choice of meat. On looking at vegetables they looked very dry, on hovering a hand over the vegetables they seemed only just warm. Told the chef who got a probe to check the temperature he said it was 50-60 so ok . Took our plates back to table and still no salad, went back and asked it arrived 5-10 later with quite a bit missing! On trying to eat our carvery the vegetables were very cold. The staff took our plates and heated our food in a microwave. We were offered a free drink or dessert but declined as did not want to sit around any longer after waiting 1hr for a salad there was no way we were going to wait for the dessert. We did thank her but declined. I have been going on and off for years meeting family and friends. I will not be going again. The staff although pleasant have no idea. They all need training including the chef 50-60 degrees is definitely not correct temperature minimum should be 63 degrees. Food: 1 Service: 2 Price per person: £10–20

I ordered the gammon steak, when it arrived it was about 5mm thick and strategically placed to hide the burned underside. It tasted every bit as awful as it looked, every chunk requiring ten minutes of chewing. The vegetables were tasteless, cooked to submission. I then thought I would try a pudding and went for classic chocolate fudge cake. When this eventually arrived it was as dry as the Sahara desert with a small blob of ice cream to try and add some moisture. The chocolate had a strange minty taste that made it taste "off", I could not finish it and I have up after a few mouthfuls.
This was not just unique to myself, my other six friends had the same experience with the awful food and the long wait times to actually get our meals delivered to our plates.
From speaking to other diners the place has really gone down hill.
Avoid and go eat somewhere else, it was my father's birthday meal and we were very disappointed.
